We are looking for an Electrical Construction Manager with petrochemical experience for a 9-12 months contract in the Stockton-on Tees area paying GBP35-40 Ltd or Umbrella rate per hour, or the PAYE equivalent if required. Start date is anticipated as June but is lockdown dependant. The role will be responsible for managing the electrical installation contractor on behalf of the client as Principal Contractor and possibly also an electrical construction supervisor.

Working as the successful Electrical Construction Manager you will have Electrical trade experience and an apprenticeship, including directly managing the installation of HV and LV power distribution systems, MCC (motor control centre including VSD) installations, small power and lighting, heavy duty containment systems, DCS (cabling, glanding, terminating, testing), fire alarm systems all within hazardous areas.

It is essential you are Compex trained in EX01-04 with experience within inspection and testing of hazardous area installations. If you also have EX05-06 it would be a big advantage, however this could be trained. Mechanical pipework and instrumentation installation experience would also be a big advantage but is not essential.

Whist this is an electrically biased position, you do also need some specific Mechanical experience:

*Review of design packages and 3D model to ensure cost-effective installation methodologies, delivered both safely and efficiently.

*Assist in developing the installation construction programme.

*Assist in developing health and safety management systems including safe systems of work and method statement risk assessments. (Pre-construction phase).

*Experienced in carrying out technical reviews of electrical design deliverables including material selection, data sheets, layouts, routing.

*Assist with the Pre-qualification vetting of contractor's submissions and contract negotiations.

*Ensuring before any variation work is carried out by a sub-contractor that an authorised instruction is given by the Project Construction Manager and/or Project Manager.

Experience required:

*Construction Manager experience.

*CDM working as Principal contractor.

*Permit to work issuer experience (not essential).

*Working to set quality/company procedures.

*On site safety management to ensure the compliance with site procedures, standards and best industry practice.

*Carry out safety auditing, inspections, inductions, review of method statements and risk assessments and near miss reporting.

*Implementation of CDM Construction Phase H&S Plan.

*Site planning, look-ahead's, inter-trade co-ordination, progress monitoring, reporting, regular programme updates.

*Management of contractor TQ's.

*Carrying out piping walkdowns and producing punch lists.

*Process P&ID knowledge.

Qualifications

*Electrical trade apprenticeship.

*SMSTS or NEBOSH Construction or IOSH managing safely in construction.

*CDM awareness.

*First aid.

*Asbestos awareness.
