RSR Police are currently recruiting for an Intelligence Officer to join one of their clients to play a pivotal in the identification of risk and harm for both individuals and the client. The role is both varied and interesting, providing the opportunity to engage in local, regional and national operations as appropriate.
This is a contract role until March 2021, based in Stafford in an office environment working Monday to Friday. This role pays from GBP13.15 - GBP16.04 per hour depending on experience.
Main Duties:
* Gather intelligence to facilitate the achievement of crime and disorder reduction objectives
* Ensure intelligence is obtained ethically and in accordance with the relevant legislation, policy, protocols and codes of practice
* Analyse intelligence and illustrate the results of the analysis to support operational planning, ensuring that results are non-discriminatory and are in accordance with relevant legislation and policy
* Disseminate intelligence in the appropriate manner to relevant organisations, departments and/or individuals, whilst maintaining the required confidentiality, sensitivity and duty of care
* Evaluate the quality of intelligence entered into the system using the National Intelligence Model and take appropriate action
* Use information/intelligence to support the achievement of community safety and crime reduction objectives. Ensure that intelligence is used ethically and in accordance with the relevant legislation, policy, protocols and codes and practice
* Prepare and deliver information to diverse audiences ensuring that you use an appropriate communication style
* Identify with the community partners and other agencies to solve community problems in accordance with the relevant legislation policy procedures and partnership agreements
* Complete a thorough risk assessment for operational events, ensuring adequate control measures are in place and that an appropriate contingency plan is developed
* Present evidence in court and at other hearings
* Record, store and supply information in accordance with organisational policy and legislative requirements
* Review, retain and dispose of records in accordance with organisation policy and relevant legislation
Essential Requirements:
* Experience in a confidential and sensitive environment
* Experience of researching a variety of computer systems and databases in order to identify patterns and trends
* Experience of using Intelligence products to improve the understanding and make recommendations on Threat, Risk and Harm
* Previous experience in crime or intelligence analysis evidencing the proven ability to contribute to the disruption of persons believed to be involved in crime
* In-depth working knowledge and ability to operate police computer databases
* Experience of report writing and communication/presentation skills
* Ability to work to tight deadlines in a high pressure environment and respond quickly to dynamic priorities
* Good strong communication skills, including an ability to negotiate and influence
* Demonstrate high levels of innovation, creativity and flexibility in approach
* Experience of appearing in court and giving evidence
* Strong problem solving skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision
* Confident in planning and prioritising own workload
* Have knowledge of relevant legislation, (i.e., CPIA, ECHR, RIPA, Data Protection, MOPI)
* Demonstrate a high level of computer literacy including MS Office applications; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
* Knowledge of the National Intelligence Model (NIM) and the Intelligence Cycle
* Knowledge of policing systems such as PND and PNC as well as SPIN, Compact, CMS2 and STORM
