Water Recycling is at the heart of our operations. The key services that we are responsible for are delivered by our in-house, highly-skilled workforce. We collect and treat the water that customers have used, returning it to the environment via rivers and coastal outlets. Our network includes 76,000 kilometres of sewers which feed over 1,000 water recycling centres. Would you like to be part of a team who responsible for the safe and sustainable operation and maintenance of our water recycling assets?

What will you be doing?

As a Sludge Technician, you will help operate treatment centres in order to produce a biosolids fertiliser product that can be recycled for use in the agricultural market. You will use your initiative to optimise the treatment process: making adjustments to the sludge digestion plant, Cambi Thermal Hydrolysis plant and the polyelectrolyte dose rate. With a keen eye for detail you will take responsibility for monitoring and recording the product and process performance.

In this role you will be comfortable working in a team, and your clear communication skills will ensure you maintain high quality standards as you work rotating shifts to provide an important 24 hour service.

What do you need?

Ideally you are confident in your numeracy and literacy skills, and hold an NVQ Level 2/3 (or equivalent) in a craft or science subject. Your basic knowledge of mechanical equipment, paired with experience operating in the water recycling industry will be beneficial. Knowledge of health and safety processes will also be valuable to the role.
