Automation Developer
Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Automation Developer based in Aberdeen
Key Area of Responsibilities:
Automation via Resolve/ServiceNow
Analyze business processes to identify automation opportunities
Develop standards for automations built on best practices, to include governance, testing, operating model, etc.
Development of standards for services and systems in scope.
Produce documentation and share knowledge with peers
Provide escalation support for released software and services
Apply industry standard (e.g. ITILV3) lifecycle management best practices as it relates to Service Operation, Service Transition and Service Design.
Provide full support for these systems, sometimes outside regular business hours as needed, and help the team keep up with daily incident tickets.
Understand the underlying data sufficiently to assist the business with report generation or analysis of historical and real time data as needed.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and optimization
Qualifications & Experience:
BSc Degree or equivalent experience
Industry recognized automation certification
Industry recognized database administration certification
Desirable - ServiceNow accreditation
Desirable - AWS Accreditation
Integration between systems using APIs and Groovy/Javascript
Database Administration for MySQL and Microsoft SQL
Oil & Gas / Utilities / Telecommunications Industry Awareness
Technical Know How:
Required
Resolve automation platform
ServiceNow
Knowledge of development and scripting languages - Groovy, Java, .NET/C#, JavaScript, PowerShell, Ruby, Python, etc.
Web service APIs using SOAP or REST protocols
Knowledge of automation governance and best practices
Ability to work with business users to gather process definitions and requirements, and ability to identify and suggest ways to optimize.
Preferred
ServiceNow, SolarWinds,
Amazon Web Services, Spark and Cassandra
Git or SVN code version control principles
Understanding of SLAs and Network Availability reporting
Understanding of Software Development lifecycles such as Waterfall and Agile
Database administration, MySQL, Microsoft SQL.
