Role Outline/Responsibilities:

The Decommissioning Consultant will report directly to the Operations Director and be accountable for the strategy, development and controllable growth of the nuclear decommissioning portfolio, management and delivery of the projects within the nuclear decommissioning portfolio, all the direct and tasked delivery and supporting functional resource to enable the nuclear decommissioning strategy and plan to be met.

The Decommissioning Consultant is to develop and grow the portfolio within the Jacobs Business and comply with business requirements, identify and implement improvements and drive forward initiatives to enhance the aims and performance of nuclear decommissioning growth and delivery across the organization working closely with the rest of the Jacobs team.

Develop, maintain and enhance client relationships and expectations.Qualifications & Experience:


  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

  • Great leadership skills and ability to engage a team

  • Understanding and experience in the field of nuclear decommissioning, including commercial and project delivery measures

  • Practical knowledge of commercial issues, the current business environments and associated impacts in the nuclear decommissioning environment

  • Awareness of business issues and experience in management of the stewardship of business investment

  • Ability to recognize the key aims of the business and develop appropriate responses

  • Experience of the various key aspects supporting project delivery and the underpinning detail to ensure performance is maximised.

  • Engaging and being the key interface with new and existing clients and seeking to sustain and grow relationships with suppliers/frameworks in the field of nuclear decommissioning

  • Having the necessary drive and commitment to see tasks/initiatives through to completion and ensuring long term sustainability


  • Business Development training

  • Experience of project delivery in a nuclear environment

  • Experience of project delivery in defence market
