Central Employment is delighted to be supporting one of our pharmaceutical clients in Newcastle who are looking for a Production Planner to join their growing operations on a temp-perm basis.

A succesful candidate will plan the Production capacity & materials in order to meet the needs of the customer. They will act as the main conduit of communication between Supply Chain and the Fawdon site and ensure the effective and efficient processing of all required orders through proactive liaison with Supply Chain and Production.

Responsibilities

* To ensure the right product is made at the right time in order to maintain the accepted level of customer service in line with company policy

* Raise orders on SAP, ensuring a fully documented and compliant process.

* Maintains Production Order Book and Schedule in MS Excel

* Records, monitors and reports on order book metrics.

* Develop the relationship between the plant and the customer through robust planning systems.

* To liaise with production team in order to highlight issues related to maintaining a good customer service level.

* To optimise production plans to meet customer needs while maximising material, machine and labour efficiency.

* To monitor actual production outputs versus cyclical plans and help establish ways and means of achieving improved schedule adherence by use of KPIs.

* To liaise with suppliers to ensure material deliveries serve the dual purpose of meeting the factory needs while keeping inventory under control

* Ensuring materials are ordered at the correct time

* Produce vendor schedules where appropriate

* Identify and take action on slow, unmoving and close to expiry dated material stock.

* Support the Planning, organising and tracking of dispatches to customers and evaluating impact on the plant and warehouse in conjunction with the Warehouse team

* Troubleshoots complex problems and liaises with other departments to resolve issues successfully.

* Supports Continuous Improvement Process and ensures successful implementation of agreed changes.

Requirements

* Previous experience in a production planner role is essential

* Experience within from a pharmaceutical manufacturer would be beneficial

* Ability to challenge existing processes and effectively structure, draft and present improvement proposals.

* Able to effectively and compliantly review, amend and draft SOP's

* Computer literate with a very good knowledge of Microsoft Office

* Experience with MRP and ERP systems (ideally SAP)
