Background

The House of Lords Administration employs over 600 staff, providing the administrative and logistical support for the House of Lords to work as an effective second chamber of Parliament.

The Learning and Organisational Development (OD) Team sits within the wider Human Resources Office. It is responsible for developing and delivering OD and learning interventions to shape our organisational culture and support delivery of the House of Lords Strategy for the Administration 2019-25 .

We are currently extending the team to consist of four roles (Head of OD, two Learning and OD Consultants and a Co-ordinator).

The Role

  • To provide a proactive learning and OD consultancy service to teams to support change and development across the Administration.
  • To build positive and trusting relationships with a wide range of people, exploring and identifying specific needs, providing healthy challenge, recommending and delivering OD interventions to help unblock barriers, promoting innovation and progression.
  • To design and deliver a blend of development opportunities and learning interventions to support leaders and teams to meet our strategic objectives.
  • To lead and co-ordinate the internal mentoring scheme across the Administration.

    The Person

    The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience:

  • Background in OD and/or learning and development, with an ability to effectively engage and deliver through others
  • Experience of designing and delivering creative learning experiences and training programmes
  • Experience of using a consultancy approach to identify and design engaging learning pathways
  • Experience of one or more of the following; supporting organisational change programmes (culture, people, processes, systems related), leadership development programmes, organisational design, talent management, employee engagement
