We are looking to recruit an innovative, highly skilled and experienced leader to take up the role of Head of Research Infrastructure and Facilities for the Faculty of Science and Engineering. This role provides a unique opportunity to work collaboratively at a senior level with academic, industry and professional stakeholders in order to develop, define and deliver improved research facilities and infrastructure across the Faculty.
Using your in depth technical knowledge and leadership skills as a key member of the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for developing a compelling and exciting infrastructure strategy. This will include supporting the delivery of facilities costing, ensuring effective utilisation of space and equipment and managing scientific/experimental support staff to ensure the delivery of world class research, whilst maintaining and improving efficiency and effectiveness of the University's research and facilities to help shape the future.
With a strong commitment to both research and high-quality teaching and a strong track record in academic/technical leadership, including significant line management of experimental and technical staff, you will ensure the facilities and infrastructure strategy meets the Faculty's requirements for research and innovation and is capable of flexing to accommodate future changes.
Building on your expertise, your role will be to increase the significance of our research infrastructure, ensure effectiveness and viability of research facilities, and strengthen the Faculty's position amongst the international community for the quality and delivery of research infrastructure.
