Summary:

I am recruiting for an exciting opportunity with a market leading company in the waste management industry. This is a growing industry, expected to double from GBP2 billion to GBP4 billion from 2016 to 2020, and there are real opportunities for professional development and career progression.

This role is suitable for recent chemistry (or related) graduates looking to get into the chemicals industry, or someone who is already working in a similar role, and is looking for career progression with a great company.

Transfer Station Chemist:

This role involves the reception, assessment, storage and onward disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste in containers. The role of the Transfer Station Chemist is to assess and classify waste on arrival, co-ordinate and supervise site operational staff to ensure waste is stored safely pending transfer to a suitably compliant and cost effective outlet. Essential to the role is co-operation with other departments on site and accurate maintenance of all documents and records of all waste received, stored and disposed of.

The Person:

• Degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering / Forensics /Related
• Previous hands on experience in an industrial environment is advantageous
• Previous experience in the waste management industry is advantageous but not essential as full training will be given
