About the role

Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit a Commissioning Manager to report directly to the Commissioning Group Manager and liaise closely with internal customers and the Project team.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a diverse, dedicated and growing team where you'll play a key and influential role in the Commissioning strategy, project management & planning of the maintenance projects.

You will lead a commissioning team, ensuring tasks are delivered safely, on time, to specification and within an agreed budget and will be responsible for commissioning and overseeing the maintenance of facilities, equipment & plant associated with Submarines.

Typical Commissioning Group tasks include:

Scheduling and coordinating work to tight deadlines
Ensuring that equipment works to its specification
Creating and carrying out test procedures
Investigating problems and diagnosing and repairing faults
Troubleshooting
Liaising with installation/project engineers
Supervising engineering and technical staff
Writing reports and documentation
Providing technical support
Ensuring safe working conditionsWhat do I need to do the role?

You will possess a relevant Engineering degree qualification with significant demonstrable experience within Electrical marine engineering systems and equipment.

You will demonstrate people management and stakeholder engagement skills, be analytical and solutions driven with the ability to work autonomously.

What else do I need to know?

This role is based at HM Naval Base Clyde, located 6 miles north of Helensburgh in the West of Scotland. We are well placed for commuter links to Glasgow and the wider region, with easy access for car and public transport.
