Our client are a leading Doncaster based company, specialising in new builds. They are currently looking for an Assistant Pre-Development Engineer to join them.
You will be responsible for reviewing site information and technical packs to assist in feasibility design and assessment of potential development sites.
Working alongside the Pre-Development engineer, you will provide robust technical baseline assessment of sites to the wider team to inform design, layour and function of potential sites.
You will commission technical surveys where required to supplement vendor provided information to formulate and produce feasibility drawings for bids.
The role is to secure development opportunities for the business through competitive tendering/bidding.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Procuring the working drawings and associated information that enables site commencement or coordinate and issues externally supplied information
- Coordination and administration of topographical surveys, geotechnical/geo-environmental surveys, CCTV drainage surveys, utility surveys, structural surveys.
- General engineering support to technical managers.
- Providing engineering appraisals of prospective development land
- Co-ordination and administration of utility service disconnections and diversions of existing utility apparatus, new utility mains and services connections designs and quotations
- Appointment of external civil engineering and structural engineering consultants and the co-ordination and checking of the designs.
-Participation in pre-contract, pre-start and project process meetings
The Person:
Essential
- To be qualified to HNC/HND level and have sounds knowledge and understanding of engineering issues often encountered by house builders
- A background working for a major housing developer
- Experience as an engineer for a housing developer
- Experience in new build residential project
- Up to date relevant knowledge of building legislation
- Use of AutoCAD 3D
- Up to date knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
Desirable
- Understanding of local government
