Position: Sales and Business Development Manager

Location: Norfolk, United Kingdom

My client is the primary subsidiary within the company group dealing with engineered solutions for the Oil, Gas and Power Generation markets. They have a current opportunity for a Sales and Business Development Manager to join their team

The Sales and Business Development Manager should be able to develop a clear understanding of the various routes to market for the company's range of products; including Engineering Contractors and Systems Integrators.

Manage international exhibitions.

The Sales and Business Development Manager will own the management of the companies CRM system.

This is a technical sales role and although the candidate will be provided with full training, they would ultimately be expected to prepare quotations in order that they talk at a technical level with customers

Work closely with the companies' agents to develop sales opportunities and extend the company's brand reach.

In conjunction with the General Manager, Introduce and train new agents within your region.

Be able to devote your time effectively across the full range of sales functions including quotations follow up, project tracking and business development activities.

Conduct technical sales visits and presentations to end users including major oil and gas companies, engineering contractors and systems integrators.

Undertake full project tracking to ensure that related enquires are received.

Develop the strategy for application and fulfilment of 'Approved Vendor Status,' with end users and operators.

Most of the company's contracts are international and as a result you will be expected to undertake a considerable amount of overseas travel some of which will be necessary at short notice.

Candidate Profile

This role is primarily a sales orientated role and you should have an entrepreneurial attitude whilst understanding the importance of working within company guidelines.

You will have the confidence to communicate up to senior management level with your customers

You should have a solid technical background, which will enable you to generate confidence with your customers and to provide the technical support necessary to complete a profitable sale.

Ideally you will hold an engineering degree or as a minimum an HNC/HND qualification in an electrical engineering subject However our range of products includes elements of thermal, mechanical and instrumentation design so applicants with other engineering backgrounds will be considered.

Willing to travel overseas.
