The Company

Privately owned well established leading provider of specialist facilities for the entertainment and event industries

The role

Reporting to the Operations Director, this is a unique opportunity to take responsibility for coordinating all logistics operations, especially transport, servicing high profile events across the UK and Europe and liaising with a network of global international partners. The successful candidate will assume many of the responsibilities currently overseen by the Operations Director.

The activities can be broadly categorised as Transport, Trucking & Yard; Plant & MHE; Warehouse & Stock; Administration & Hotel accommodation, each of which is successfully managed by established, long service team members within each category.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the efficient running of all operations and site deliveries within the UK and Internationally
Provide administrative support to the sales team.
Ensure all event requirements are complete and despatched on time to meet deadlines in a fast moving environment
Liaison with internal and external service providers, including Freight Forwarders, air and sea
Correct reporting of incidents, accident and hazards
Promote a positive working environment at all times
Resolve any issues confidently, quickly and efficiently with all stakeholders
Lead and motivate staff to ensure the Logistics team utilisation is maximised and first class service is provided in a safe environment.
Ensure proactive management of returns logistics of Inventory
Re-work & damages processing
Ensure the transport and distribution operations and MHE are compliant with safety and legal compliance
Prioritise daily tasks and complete all tasks efficiently and quickly.
Communicate promptly with clients and colleagues

The Candidate

Must have a high attention to detail, be organised and thorough.

Background in Logistics/Operations is desirable, especially transport.

Happy to work in a fast paced and highly pressured work environment.

Administration experience is important

Good understanding of warehousing

Experience of overseeing projects and meeting deadlines

Drive and appetite to get a job done

Proactive

Calm in a crisis and decisive

Take ownership of the role and its responsibilities

Self-motivated, confident and driven and able to make the most of this opportunity

Sound communication skills and able to work independently

Prepared to work variable hours in a seasonal environment (Very busy in Summer, quieter in Winter)
Flexible

Ability to deal with difficult and complex situations
