Graduate Ecologist - Chelmsford
My client is a leading Land Reclamation and Restoration Consultancy based in the South East of England. They have been an established name in the Environmental sector since the early 1990s. They are currently looking for a Graduate Ecologist to become part of their friendly and experienced team based in Essex.
The ideal candidate would:
Have a relevant ecological/environmental degree;
Membership with a professional body i.e. CIEEM;
Experience with protected species surveys, ecological mitigation, and monitoring;
Be confident liaising with clients, statutory authorities and contractors;
Have a sound knowledge of wildlife law, particularly in relation to the planning system; and
Be able to efficiently write technical reports based on survey findings.
During your time at this role, you will be working both out on-site and in an office environment, due to working on sites across the UK, a willingness to travel and occasionally stay overnight is required. This role will best suit someone who is in the early stages of their career and is keen to learn from senior members of staff. Mentoring and support will be a focus from the client, as they aim to help you progress throughout your career as an Ecologist. Some of the roles you will be responsible for include habitat and species survey work, report writing, desktop studies and liaising with sub-contractors.
