Apprentice (Level 3) – Leisure and Recreation Supervisor

Salary: £12,096 - £15,839 per annum (dependent on age) + college gym membership
Hours: 37 hours per week - these hours will be worked on shift patterns over a 5 day period
Location: Exeter, city centre location
Contract Type: Fixed Term (18 months)

An apprenticeship vacancy for a Level 3 Leisure and Recreation Supervisor has arisen, based in our onsite sport and fitness facilities.

The apprentice will assist in running all sport and fitness facilities for use by students, staff and external customers. As part of the role the apprentice will be required to oversee facility users, ensure that the facilities (including our brand new state of the art sports hall) are kept clean and safe, whilst assisting with the opening and securing of the premises on a daily basis. The apprentice will be required to supervise fitness instructors to ensure gym and fitness duties are effectively carried out, including initial fitness assessments, safe instruction and running of fitness classes.

Associated administrative duties, to ensure the effective day to day operation of the gym and fitness facilities, will also form part of the role; the successful candidate will assist in marketing, staffing rotas, housekeeping duties, as well as maintenance logs essential for the safe running of practical sport facilities.

Apprenticeship placements are an exciting opportunity for anyone wishing to broaden their experience in a work related environment, whilst also learning and gaining a qualification at the same time.
The candidate would receive the required training and assessment to enable them to progress into further employment within the Active Leisure industry and successfully find employment within sport and fitness centres.
