The Role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a strong leader with proven experience of delivering effective maintenance services to a large continuous process operation.

 

In this role you will manage a team of 150 directly employed personnel and be accountable for the performances of approximately 900 contractors.  You will be accountable for owning and developing the maintenance execution and efficiency improvement processes for one of the UK’s key strategic national infrastructure assets.

 

You will lead the function in providing both reactive and proactive, multi-skilled maintenance services on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure. 

 

Specific accountabilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to
  • Creating and implementing best practice maintenance vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance
  • Preparing the annual maintenance budget and forecasts and all capital expenditure proposals, as well as ensuring compliance with legal standards
  • Managing the budget from identification through to completion of projects 
  • Managing, coaching and developing a high performing Maintenance Team that meets agreed objectives
  • Implementing and managing continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and process simplification
  • Contributing to new business initiatives and projects and reviewing and communicating the impact on maintenance activities

 

 

Increasing the site’s mean time between failure and reducing downtime. 

  • Developing and implementing performance management systems, including a full range of KPIs to improve the quality and efficiency of maintenance delivery to the business
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance

About You

Our ideal candidate will be a Chartered Mechanical Bias Engineer, with significant experience in maintenance management on a refining, chemical or continuous process operation.

Experience in the oil refining, petrochemical or heavy engineering sectors and or at more than one location would be desirable.

Significant leadership experience, with a demonstrable track record of delivering sustainable maintenance performance improvements on major process facilities and a track record of delivering results through others.

Able to contribute as a team member during emergency response and can gain the ability to lead emergency response during a crisis.
