We have a new exciting opportunity for an experienced Gardener to join our Facilities Management Team. Working to the Head Gardener you will be responsible for providing professional grounds maintenance services across partner buildings. Specifically, you will undertake the following activities:
1. Provide advice regarding the general upkeep of other gardens/ landscaped areas and the outsourced grounds maintenance contract
2. Undertake work programmes set by the Head Gardener and carry out horticultural operations, ensuring adherence to Health and Safety policies and procedures
3. Purchase supplies and equipment as directed by the head Gardener in line with the Resources team and in line with budgetary requirements
4. Competently use pesticide, herbicide, fertilizer and related chemical applications in accordance with the relevant COSSH method statement.
5. Drive/operate horticultural machinery and perform general gardening, cultivation and horticultural maintenance duties, including the clearing of snow/debris/litter
6. Maintain gardeners' inventories and carry out minor repairs on mechanised lawn care and other powered/non-powered equipment
7. Monitor, survey and inspect for tree diseases or potential dangerous trees, reporting any suspect trees to the Facilities Manager
Relevant Experience required for this role:
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
* An NVQ in Grounds maintenance or equivalent experience
* A current valid driving licence
* At least experience in a similar role and physically fit to undertake the duties as described
* An understanding of Health & Safety regulations and procedures relating to the duties
