We now have a number of exciting opportunities to join one of the South West's leading employers as a Maintenance Engineer in our Resources and Production team. This role will be based in our West operational area (Cornwall), with frequent travel to our sites throughout the area and, when required, to our other operational areas covering Devon, Somerset and Dorset (Bournemouth Water).
[b]What will you be doing?[/b]
As a Maintenance Engineer in the Resources and Production section in the Drinking Water Services Department, you will be part of a flexible, regional team that will provide co-ordination and expert support to existing operational maintenance activities, depending on need and priority. You will assist in the planning, coordination and delivery of maintenance activities across Mechanical, Electrical and ICA assets, depending on your skills.
These roles require advanced hands-on maintenance knowledge in order to provide hands-on support to the Craft Maintenance team. You'll identify root causes of plant failure and sub-optimal performance and take ownership of the resolution process.
You will also support/lead business improvement or change programmes such as those using lean/reliability centered maintenance techniques.
Whilst the roles are nominally area based you will also be required to operate flexibly across the South West Water and Bournemouth Water areas depending on operational needs. This may require travel or periods away from home.

*Strong maintenance background and hands on maintenance experience including troubleshooting and resolution*Completed apprenticeship supported by formal qualifications e.g. City & Guilds, BTEC, ONC / HNC / HND*Possess wide-ranging engineering knowledge*Relevant and current equipment regulations competency (e.g. IEE)*Advanced mechanical, electrical and ICA equipment operation and maintenance*Use of company computer systems for office, mobile and site based activities*Ability to diagnose, trouble shoot and rectify operational issues
