As a charitable registered provider of short term social housing operating in Southend-on-Sea, we believe everyone should have a home of their own although at times individuals may require temporary support from HARP to get back on their feet.

We currently manage over 200 bed spaces in our emergency and short term hostels and employ over 80 full and part time staff and support 100 volunteers.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Project Worker for our Supported Housing accommodation services in Southend and Westcliff. Reporting to one of our Co-ordinators, your role will be part of the team assisting service users in a medium to high hostel service and step-down hostels leading to move-on to independent living. You will work with and deputise for the Co-ordinator to ensure that a focussed service is provided to service users and that the service is operated in line with HARP values, procedures and legal requirements and that it meets the funder’s and service user’s needs.

To be considered for this role, you will need the demonstrable ability to work within a highly effective, person centred accommodation service for service users, some with complex needs. Your experience must include the holistic assessment of need, support and risk, and multi-agency casework planning.

Organised, adaptable, and an excellent communicator, you will be enthusiastic about working in a psychologically informed environment, and creative in your approach to service delivery. You are resilient in, and motivated by, a constantly changing and busy environment. A good understanding of the regulatory and financial environment within which accommodation based support operates is essential.

A Full Driving Licence is desirable.

HARP will provide you with excellent support and training to carry out your role effectively, and to develop your career and contribution to our clients. Our starting benefits package includes 25 days annual leave, plus Bank Holidays, a contributory pension scheme through The People’s Pension. HARP will make a contribution to the pension and you will also be required to make a contribution.
