Job purpose:
As our FLM, you will be responsible for a zoned area in the Hub such as Incoming Parcels, Outgoing Parcels, Manual Sortation or International/Relabel, Returns & Assets. You will manage a mixed team of permanent employees and agency workers and you will manage and monitor performance, compliance, Health & Safety and hygiene in your allocated Zone. You will use our internal reports and tools to ensure that the service levels and SLAs are achieved for both our clients and the Hub.

About the Role:
Reporting in to one of our Shift Managers, you will be pivotal in providing leadership and direction to your shift of Warehouse Operatives. Some of your responsibilities will be to brief and debrief the Operatives at the start and end of the shift, to ensure that all instructions and volumes to be processed are understood and actioned. You will be responsible for keeping your section motivated and aware of their Health & Safety commitments so that they are working efficiently and safely.

You will need experience of collating reports on various systems so that M.I. information can be captured and acted upon. You will use these reports to assist in building plans for shift improvements and to push efficiencies on shift with your Shift Manager.

You will work four days on and four days off and this will include some weekend working.

Our FLM job is for someone who understands how to motivate staff and is able to efficiently prioritise pressing needs, where there isn't an obvious solution. Lateral and original thinking would be a benefit as would logistics experience but we are open to experience gained in other related fields. You must be able to work collaboratively and take the lead on projects amongst your peers.

Experience/Qualifications:
Experience of Distribution Management
Key understanding of KPI's and their drivers
Ability to succeed in a fluid and fast moving environment
Must be able to work on own initiative in a pressurised environment
Great Motivational Skills
Effective in cross functional working
PC Literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft office
Effective communicator - able to liaise at all levelsResponsibilities:
Ensure productivity levels are maximised on Inbound / Outbound areas through KPI management
Achieve the highest possible throughput via automated sorters
Monitor and implement safe trailer loading with a view to removing any possible damage to customer orders but still optimising trailer fills
Carry out daily yard checks to ensure inbound and outbound goods are being identified
Close Management and support of Section Leader to ensure key targets are met
