Area Manager - Our client is a multi-skilled business providing arboriculture support to utility companies, and commercial vegetation management and tree surgery to public and private customers. They are recruiting for an enthusiastic and pro-active individual to undertake an Area Manager position to work within their vegetation division on an established long-term contract. The role will be based out of our clients Needham Market office, covering and working in the Norfolk area (including Norwich and Kings Lynn).
Our client is looking for an individual with commercial awareness who can liaise with key stakeholders both internally and externally. This role is responsible for coordinating delivery of the programme of utility tree works as agreed with their client and in line with contractual obligations. Whilst working knowledge of overhead lines vegetation management or tree surgery would be highly advantageous it is not essential.
Responsibilities will include:
* Day to day management of teams, planning and scheduling work (both subcontract and directly employed)
* Ensuring productivity, quality of works undertaken, safe working by teams
* Dealing with customer enquiries in a professional and courteous manner
* Attending client facing meetings
* Working as part of a team to ensure the contract is commercially successful
Essential Requirements:
* Previous experience working within the utility industry
* Good communication skills - confident in liaising with all levels within the business, the client and customers
* Ability to produce operational reports
* Ability to work to deadlines
* Strong time management skills
* Full UK Driving Licence
Additional skills but not essential:
* Previous experience of arboriculture and/or vegetation clearance on the electrical network
* First Aid Certification
* UA qualifications
* IOSH Managing Safely
