What will you be doing?
As a core member of the Water Supply Asset Health Team, you'll be responsible for driving efficiency and service across Supply to deliver the challenging efficiency and performance targets of AMP7 and beyond.
Working closely with the Regional Supply and Optimisation Teams you'll ensure that our asset base operates in the most optimised way. You'll be responsible for driving the optimal operation of our sites, people and business processes, ensuring that Supply activities both inform and deliver the Water Business Stream optimisation strategy and that our people, business processes and asset operation are delivering optimum performance.
As you provide visible leadership to the Supply Delivery Team and ensure that programmes of work are implemented and delivered in the most effective way, you'll influence and drive the development of Source to Tap strategies, translating these into programmes of work for your team to deliver in conjunction with Operational Teams. You'll develop a high performing team capable of adapting its' approach quickly to find the correct balance between Optimisation Delivery, delivery of Proactive Risk management and urgent operational support.
You'll develop and lead initiatives for workload efficiency, driving forward a programme to visualise and improve the productivity and efficiency of our work force, exploiting opportunities to improve people efficiency and reviewing processes to ensure a LEAN approach to workload management.
What do you need? To be successful in this role, you'll need to have strong technical knowledge with leadership experience. You should have:
  • Strong operational knowledge of the abstraction, treatment, transmission and storage of potable water from surface and/or ground water derived WTWs.
  • Demonstrable experience of integrating regional programmes of work within an operational environment and excellent influencing and negotiating skills.
  • Operational management experience and proven leadership skills, along with the ability to promote the right behaviours within the team and challenge constructively.
  • Health and safety management qualified to a minimum of IOSH level.
  • Proven financial management experience along with the ability to translate strategy.
  • It's ideal if you have achieved a degree (or equivalent) in relevant scientific or engineering (Chem, Mech &/or Elect) subject, a business or management qualification (e.g. ILM certificate) and/or an appropriate professional qualification (e.g. CIWEM).
