Location: North-West Northamptonshire

Summary
Our Client based in Northamptonshire is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their collections team on a full-time basis. The role is a 12-month maternity contract with the potential to be extended subject to the return of the existing employee.

You will be managing the collection of outstanding debts and minimising overdue debt, liaising with customers and branches on issues that may hinder the timely debt collection process, and liaising with senior staff on any credit violations.

*Appointment Type: 12 Month Maternity Contract
*£9 - £10 + holiday pay / £20,000 - £21,000 per annum (subject to experience)
*Bonus (KPI + Team)

*Hours: Full-Time 8:30am - 5:00pm Mon-Fri
(for an outstanding candidate, our Client may consider part-time minimum three days, but full-time hours are their preferred option)
*Holiday: 20 Days + STAT
*On Site Parking


Responsibilities
*Managing individual ledger, ensuring debts are collected when falling due,
*Sending out overdue letters in line with the Company's timetable,
*Ensure accounts are placed on stop in accordance with Company's timetable,
*Ensure all outstanding invoice queries are resolved & collected expediently by liaising with the Branch and/or customer, and that all relevant resolutions are documented,
*Ensure high-risk accounts are brought to the attention of the Supervisor / Credit Manager,
*Ensure all overdue accounts are passed on to solicitors at the appropriate time and free from queries that may hinder legal action,
*Review of accounts which have exceeded credit limits and, where appropriate, liaise with senior staff,
*Identify key issues such as recurring disputes and recommend resolution, implement, monitoring, reporting,
*Assisting colleagues on an adhoc basis with any of the above.

Reporting to: Credit Manager


Requirements
*Education: GCSE standard incl. English & Maths,
*Minimum of one years' experience within a credit control environment within a large corporate organisation,
*A background in customer services is preferred with experience in problem / dispute resolution,
*Excellent communication skills (verbal & written English),
*The ability to plan, prioritize and manage workloads on own initiative,
*Desirable: student / member of Institute of Credit Management.
