We are looking for an Assistant Portfolio Manager to join us in Leeds City Centre, assisting with the selection of mandates awarded to external managers and the management of range of portfolios/sub-funds across multiple asset classes.  This role will support the team in the evaluation of investment strategies and style combinations for externally managed sub-funds to achieve agreed investment outcomes considering the complementarity of investment strategies and risk exposures.

In this role you will undertake regular reviews of the performance, attribution, exposure and risk metrics of the sub-funds and underlying managers. Also, provide commentary on the strategy, performance, attribution and risk of the sub-funds and managers. You will participate in planning and execution of transitions for all Border to Coast fund launches and develop relationships with third party service providers including advisers, asset managers, consultants and research providers.

You will need relevant experience in assisting the management of portfolios within defined risk parameters and knowledge of investment management software such as Bloomberg.  Ideally, you will be educated to degree level and have a suitable investment management qualification, or a willingness to work towards this. You’ll need a good understanding of qualitative and quantitative due diligence and relationship management skills. With a keen interest in, and understanding of, investment markets, long-term investment themes and commitment to responsible investment and sustainability, you will be a strong communicator and be able to present a wide range of often conflicting information in a concise and cohesive manner.
