Rethink Mental Illness is a national charity that helps those affected by mental illness. We aim to challenge attitudes and change lives. Currently, we directly support almost 60,000 people every year across England, helping them through crises, to live independently and to realise they are not alone.

Our housing services provide a supportive home environment that paves the way to greater independence and recovery. We help people with their day-to-day living and social skills, as well as providing access to social activities, further education, employment and training.

We are now looking for a Service Manager to join us and oversee the day-to-day delivery of housing services in the area.

The Role 

As the Service Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day delivery of our housing support services within your area.  

Reporting to the Head of Housing (North), you will lead and develop your team to provide high-quality, person-centred services in line with legislation, regulatory standards and contractual requirements.

Specifically, you will: 

- Ensure that the needs and aspirations of those we support are met  
- Make sure that staff are effectively recording support activities 
- Build and maintain constructive relationships with referrers, families and carers, neighbours and the wider community
- Support the implementation of change, best practice and continuous improvement activities

About You

To join us as a Service Manager, you will need: 

- Experience of managing a service in a health or social care setting, including managing and supporting a staff team and volunteers 
- Previous experience of dealing with and reporting incidents, accidents or near misses and safeguarding reporting 
- The ability to assess, plan and monitor support to achieve and demonstrate recovery and outcomes
- Good IT skills 
- An NVQ Level 3 qualification and/or QCF diploma in Health & Social Care or a related subject 
NVQ 3 / QCF Diploma in Health & Social

Ideally, you will also possess a Level 5 QCF Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care or a Level 4 LMCS.
