Strategic Account Manager - Life Sciences/Pharmaceutical
• Salary - GBP80-90k + uncapped OTC (GBP60k) + excellent benefits
• Location - London office with 50% travel EMEAI
As Strategic Account Manager / Director/ Key Account Manager, you will be joining this highly regarded global business intelligence organisation, who have been delivering data & intelligence solutions to the Life Sciences/Pharmaceutical/Consultancy sector for over 20 years. Due to continued success & exciting growth plans, they are currently looking for a highly professional senior-level Strategic Account Manager or Account Director.
The role
Reporting to the SVP, this is a key, senior-level Strategic Account Manager role within the business with full exposure to the executive team. You will forge strong professional relationships and partnerships with your client base, focused on delivering exceptional solutions and maximising the business opportunity across all client accounts aligned with the wider business strategical goals & objectives.
Key responsibilities include ...
• Achieve/exceed all set sales & retention goals across client portfolio including Enterprise Pharmaceutical & Biotech companies, CRO, CMOs, consultancies & investment banking space.
• Identify, cultivate & maximise additional new business opportunities to grow existing accounts
• Deliver exceptional training & required updates promoting product integration into client workflows
• Develop & deliver effective account plans to ensure a high level of client services are delivered & maximise all potential revenue opportunities by full account penetration
• Employ sales methodology to maximise client engagements and evangelise the brand & value proposition
• Collaborate with all internal stakeholders to ensure delivery of solutions and resolution of any client issues
• Work to become a trusted advisor & expert to all clients by ensuring you fully understand their business needs & challenges and provide the required solution & level of support
• Attend client meetings, industry events & conferences as required by needs of the role & business. (role involves 50% travel, 50% office based)
• Understand the market & current trends & analysis
What skills & experience are needed?
You have been in a senior sales role for at least 5 years (Strategic Account Manager, Strategic Account Director/ Key Account Manager) You will also have at least 2 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical/ Biotech space and/or relevant company that services this sector. Exceptional candidates from a top consultancy background will also be considered.
• Recognised, professional sales methodology training/ accreditation is essential
• You will have previous experience of managing a blue-chip client base and devising & executing sales plans & key account mapping
• You are able to explain complex issues in a very simple way
• You understand financial data (drugs/drug companies) with the ability to read, interpret statements (P&L, Cash Flow, Balance Sheet)
• Extensive presentation experience to C-Suite/Board level
• Thrive under pressure, can work at pace & deliver against tight deadlines
• Degree educated
