My client is a well-established and thriving business based on the outskirts of Newcastle, supplying specialist products to the defence and aviation sector worldwide.
As a result of growth they are currently seeking a buyer to join their purchasing team.
This is an operational role with the aim or procuring materials to support the production operation, ensuring orders are placed in a timely manner.
You will also be responsible for ensuring delivery and availability of all parts and expediting where necessary.
Ensure material quotes are received when requested
Develop strong relationships with suppliers and monitor performance
Liaise closely with production to determine orders
Handle supplier returns
Requirements
Ideally a minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
Good computer skills with some knowledge of MRP systems.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
