About Pearson

We are Pearson, the world's leading learning company. Our mission is to improve the lives of others through learning. We employ 38000 employees globally across 80 countries and have an annual turnover of $4bn. We provide digital and printed learning resources and exams to schools, colleges and universities across the world.

Our mission is to partner with schools to deliver learner progression. All students from the age of 5 through to 18+, have their own individual learner journeys. Alongside their teachers, Pearson can help them make the progression most appropriate to them, whether onto Further or Higher Education onto Apprenticeships or directly into work. Through a consultative, collaborative sales approach we support our school customers with the right choice of products and services for their learners.

The role

The purpose of the Internal Sales Associate is to support the UK Secondary Schools team by developing our market share through providing outstanding customer support. You will be ambassadors of our brand and you will nurture existing customer relationships by understanding their needs and in turn offering suitable Pearson products that will help the schools achieve their academic goals.

An ISC is responsible for supporting Partnership Managers in developing Pearson business across customer segments and/or elements of our Secondary qualifications and 5-19 Learning Services portfolio.

The ISC will also be responsible for supporting business growth in key qualifications. This will be achieved through telephone campaigns, follow up of Marketing Qualified leads, Live-Chat support through our websites.

The ISC works closely with their field and internal colleagues - Partnership Managers, Product Experts, Partnership Support Consultants and Customer Success Consultants.

The Team

The Internal Sales Team consists of around 12 people, all of whom work in our Salford Quays office, right next to Media City. You will be part of a friendly, collaborative team and you will report into one of two supportive and knowledgeable managers, who have been with Pearson for 13 and 12 years respectively. There's no shift work or micromanagement in this team. We offer flexible start and finish times (within 8am-5pm) to fit in with your home life - and lunch and breaks can be taken at a time to suit you.

Training

Success in this role can be attributed to many things including; organisation and time management skills, rapport building and sales technique however one of the most important factors for success is product knowledge. If you can talk confidently about our products you will do well. Any knowledge of the UK schools systems will give you an advantage but either way, for all we provide on-going training to get you up to speed. This could be in the form of classroom style learning, online training or one-to-one coaching from your manager.
