British Sugar is the leading Sugar supplier in the UK and one of the most efficient Sugar processors in the world. Partnering with over 3,500 growers to produce home grown sugar, supplying around 50% of the UK's sugar market, we are proud to be building and supporting a Beet Sugar industry that works for Britain.

We are looking to recruit a number of individuals to fill seasonal roles on our Sugar Beet processing campaign, running from the beginning of September to mid-February.

You will join our Beet Intake team and will play a vital role in ensuring the supply of sugar beet to the factory.

Main Scope of Role

A combined role operating Beet Samplers and Marshalling lorries on the flatpad.

This entails operating machinery to a strict set of parameters to ensure compliant sampling of beet lorries whilst also checking the quality of the sugar beet as it is delivered.

The flatpad receives upwards of 500 beet lorries a day which need to be marshalled into position for tipping. Good communication with drivers and the wider Beet Intake team is essential to ensure the working area is kept safe.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required

Strong safety awareness.

Good timekeeping and communication skills.

A team player.

Basic IT knowledge.

Ability to work outside in all weathers.

Experience of banking HGVs desirable.

FLT experience is preferred but not essential.
