Our Client is based North of Norwich and has an opening for a Herdsperson/ General Farm Worker.

This position is being recruited on either a permanent or temporary to permanent basis, so could suit both currently employed and unemployed candidates. Our Client will wait out a notice period for the right person and is offering a very competitive salary - which will part depend on experience, so again please indicate your requirements on application and your notice period required.

The job holder will help to run and maintain a family run farm of around 180 acres with an expanding herd of 120 Cattle.
Hours of work - Mon-Fri, 7am to 5pm with alternate weekends to feed and check cattle, this will only involve a few hours though. They will also consider part time hours for the right person.

A farming and cattle background is essential with the ability to look after, and extend a pedigree herd of Simmental Cattle. Applicants must have practical experience of livestock management and good husbandry skills.
Must have a genuine interest in breeding/ cow management. Also able to oversee cattle health - diagnosis and basic cattle wellbeing, liaising with the vets as required.
Must have experience of operating Tractors and heavy-duty Machinery and must enjoy working outdoors in all weathers.
The successful person will be self-driven and take pride in their work. They will be reliable, trustworthy, efficient and capable of working on their own the majority of the day.

Farm and cattle experience is essential. However, full training will be given. The ideal person will also be able to carry out pruning and looking after plantations, although this is not essential.

As well as an excellent rate of pay this position comes with 28 days holiday per year, including bank holidays. As relevant qualification would be preferred and applicants should also be aware of Health and Safety.
