Balfour Beatty are currently looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our R12 Payroll Team in Newcastle upon Tyne
Employee Services is the HR and Payroll shared services section of the HR Enabling Function providing critical, continual administrative support to employees throughout their entire lifecycle; from posting job adverts like this one to attract potential candidates through to the day they leave the company and every aspect in between. Employee Services is made up of core administration teams and specialist teams who look after our 16,000 UK based employees across a range of roles in construction, utilities and Rail.
R12 Payroll is one of the core teams who process 3,500 weekly paid employees and 7000 monthly paid employees in a fast paced environment each period. The team have responsibility for the full end to end payroll cycle including checking and reconciling employee data; transmitting BACS files and posting payroll costs to the Finance General Ledger.
The role will involve managing all queries relating to payroll from employees and the wider business including payment queries, payroll reporting, taxation and requests for manual calculations along with general administrative duties ensuring that all transactional processes are executed accurately and efficiently.
What you'll be doing
As a Payroll Administrator you will:
- Administer end-to-end payroll processing through Oracle R12 and off-system;
- Payroll transactions and queries;
- Process weekly and monthly payrolls;
- Contribute to the effective working of the Payroll Administration Team to ensure seamless service line delivery;
- Managing workflow via the ServiceNow;
- Regularly communicate with our customers to support partnership working;
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of services;
- Contributes to the effective working of Employee Services teams to ensure seamless service line delivery;
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engage with wider ES initiatives.
Who we're looking for
Our successful candidate will have extensive experience in the end-to-end payroll running process and will be proficient in the use of Oracle R12. They will also be competent in producing manual calculations. Our new team member will, ideally, have worked with a weekly payroll and have an awareness of Working Rules Agreements. They will also be used to high volume workloads and will be able to work towards our KPIs of timeliness and quality. A good attention to detail is absolutely critical in this role and our successful candidate will take full responsibility for the quality of their own work as well as supporting colleagues in maintaining our high standards. Strong verbal and written communicative skills are hugely valued in Employee Services; our customers are at the centre of everything we do and we need to ensure that we are able to communicate effectively with them.
