The Role

An internal promotion has created the opportunity for a Finance Analyst to join the team based in Reading The Finance Analyst - Business Finance will act as the key financial contact for the Invoice Finance and Specialist Finance businesses, providing high quality financial analysis and insight together with commercial business support

The role is focussed on being a trusted finance support and raising the level of support to the Invoice Finance and Specialist Finance businesses, the Divisional Finance FD and the Business Finance MD. In this respect you should be able to demonstrate excellent accountability and self-motivation, both in challenging and supporting the Invoice Finance and Specialist Finance businesses to optimise value for both Business Finance and the Bank

Key Accountabilities include

Be the key finance contact for the Invoice Finance and Specialist Finance businesses
Supporting the Finance Business Partner - Business Finance on Invoice Finance and Specialist Finance activity
Provide proactive financial insight and analysis and communicating results and findings effectively to stakeholders across the Invoice Finance and Specialist Finance businesses
Working with the senior leadership team across the Invoice Finance and Specialist Finance businesses, you will be required to provide financial information and support on all aspects of performance analysis, including but not limited to, budgetary management, monthly and weekly forecasting, business performance analysis, accounting and treasury management, capital utilisation monitoring and monthly, quarterly and annual management reporting
Ability to influence management into a course of action with the best financial outcome, often needing to present to senior non-finance managers, conveying financial concepts clearly and persuasively
To provide the central planning and capital teams with the information necessary to enable monthly financial reporting and forecasting. This will include explanation of significant variance movements for inclusion in the monthly business performance
To support on new product pricing, product formulation and retention strategy, assessment of funding requirements, returns assessment and financial impact of business change programs
To prepare robust forecast positions on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis, working closely with the Invoice Finance and Specialist Finance Directors and their direct reports. To complete the forecast in a professional manner with budget holders to ensure effective early warning of potential future problems which enable financial risk to be effectively managed.
To support on the annual budget setting exercise for the Invoice Finance and Specialist Finance businesses, including asset projections, income and cost forecasts, coordinating the risk forecasting, challenging and supporting the business on their plans and advising on delivery of service in the most economic and effective manner. Ensuring that all plans are in accordance with the Bank's strategic plan
Maintain appropriate controls to ensure financial outputs are robust and consistent with other information within the Bank
Maintain relevant KPI's and performance management metrics and aligned with Group Finance
Adhere to and comply with all company policies, procedures and regulations

Experience required

?? A recognised accountancy qualification (CIMA / ACCA / ACA) is highly beneficial but not essential as is experience of exposure to Invoice Finance

?? Evidence of strong financial analytical and modelling skills

?? Commercial and analytically focussed in order to drive improvements

?? Experience of working in similar roles

?? Experience in evaluating business performance in both a strategic and commercial context

?? Confident, proactive self-starter with strong Excel and Powerpoint skills

?? Able to influence and persuade across all levels of seniority within Finance and the Invoice Finance business
