Based at our Lincoln offices and reporting directly to an Accounting Director, you'll find yourself responsible for:

Advising on disciplinaries and capability procedures;
Advising on grievances;
Carrying out or advising on conducting investigations;
Delivering bespoke training;
Presenting at workshops to include colleagues, networking events and client-led forums;
Managing exit negotiations;
Conducting redundancy or TUPE consultations;
Auditing personnel files;
Drafting and critiquing employment contracts and handbooks;
Conducting strategy meetings;
Drafting reports containing your recommendations;
Drafting employment letters such as offer or outcome letters;
Drafting settlement agreements or COT3 agreements;
Providing ad-hoc telephone advice to clients covering a wide variety of HR/Employment Law/H&S issues; and
Advising on HR and H&S compliance and keeping systems up to date.
This is a stand-alone role which would be ideal for somebody wanting the variety of working with a broad portfolio of existing clients, who would like some flexibility within their working day. You will be given support by the HR & Compliance Manager as needed, encouraged to grow and develop yourself and the role.

What we need from you:

You'll need to be able to interface with many different clients and adapt your approach to suit the situation, offering commercial and ethical advice;
Demonstrate a flexible way of working with clients - sometimes there may be the odd late-night call if they need some urgent guidance, but you will need to manage the working relationships to allow them to fit into your normal working day;
You'll need to represent the values of our firm by demonstrating proactive working, professionalism and a personal approach for clients;
Many of our clients join us as they are with us for existing accounting work, we would like you to promote the HR provision whether that be through networking meetings or liaising with other Nicholsons departments to see if there are any current or upcoming needs for HR advice;
You'll need to be a self-starter, able to manage your own workloads and to use your own initiative; and
Time management is crucial in this role, as you will be responsible for ensuring all your work is completed or escalated as necessary.
What we would like from you:

If you have experience with the PeopleHR system that would be advantageous; and
If you have a basic H&S knowledge, such as how to undertake a risk assessment and provide basic support to clients this would also be advantageous.
