Our client is a UK based live entertainment company. Their events and festivals division operates one of the largest operations at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, selling over 460,000 tickets for over 200 shows, in 22 venues over 25 days in 2018.

2019 marks the eleventh year of their Festival on the Southbank - one of the biggest multi-arts offerings in London and London’s original pop-up festival, with over 140 shows programmed over 6 months on the South Bank.

The company also produces Edinburgh’s Hogmanay, Edinburgh’s Christmas, Christmas in Leicester Square, a Festival in Hong Kong and West End Live in Trafalgar Square for Westminster City Council and the Society of London Theatre.

In 2018 this company sold over 1.5 million tickets to their various events.

Purpose of The Role

Our client is looking for a full time Cashier for the duration of this years Edinburgh’s Christmas Festival.

You'll be working primarily to reconcile and bank all their takings. You'll also be entering this information along with invoices and delivery notes into spreadsheets. However, as always in a festival environment you could be asked to do other things and help around the office.

Dates of employment are approximately 12/11/2019 – 10/01/2020.

Person Specification

You will need to have extensive cash handling experience, be flexible and have excellent IT skills, particularly with Excel spreadsheets.

Your knowledge of Excel should be beyond a standard office user, you will understand how to create and adjust Macros.

You will be a good team player but be able to work independently.

Terms and Conditions

This role is a fixed term contract, from the 12th of November 2019 – 10th of January 2020 inclusive.  You should be available to work for the full period on a full-time basis.  Pre-festival, they work to a 5 day week however they work to a 6 day week during the festival, so you can expect 1 day off a week.  The exact time frame of this change will be agreed with the Operations manager in advance.

Pay for this role is £100 per day.  This will be paid fortnightly for the duration of the contract.  You will need to be over 18 and find your own accommodation within Edinburgh as they do not provide any staff accommodation. You have to commit to working New Year's Eve daytime and evening. You will be required to work Christmas Eve, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
