My client is a professional, friendly, dynamic, full-service Law Firm with a fantastic reputation across Northern England. They have been operating for a number of years and have offices across the North East. They are now looking for a Legal Cashier to join their team based in their Sunderland office.

Role responsibilities of a Legal Cashier:

* Working as part of the accounts team, processing receipts, payments, reconciliation of statements, posting to client accounts

* Online daily banking and liaising with banks regarding incoming client funds and bank transfers as well as daily bank reconciliations

* Ensuring standing orders and direct debits or processed

* Cash flow reporting

* Assisting partners and staff with day to day accounting queries, handling the firm's financial records in accordance with relevant regulations

* Posting both client and office account transactions timely and accurately, processing of supplier invoices and staff expenses and dealing with all online banking processes (receipts and payments, office and client account transfers)

* WIP analysis, P&L analysis, balance sheet analysis and reconciliation

* Payroll journal processing including PAYE and NI payments to HMRC

* Ensuring compliance with SRA rules at all times

* Completing quarterly VAT returns

* Debtors and creditors analysis

Person specification:

* Experience working as a Legal Cashier for another law firm is essential

* Good knowledge of SRA accounts rules

* AAT qualified or working towards qualification would be an advantage

* Organised and methodical in your working approach

* Ability to work seamlessly as part of a team as well as on your own initiative

* Proficient with Microsoft office with the ability to learn new systems quickly

* Strong English language and numerical skills
