Bus Driver - Hengrove

We are looking for Trainee and Qualified Bus Drivers to join us in Hengrove!

Do you fancy a change? Do you work in Care, Retail or Warehousing? Whether you're experienced or not, if you have a passion to be a bus driver we want to hear from you!

What will you be doing?

Going out on the open road as a bus driver, you'll work on your own initiative and take ownership of your bus on its travels, looking after passenger safety and providing a great customer experience. You'll drive different routes, issue tickets and drop people off at their destinations.

As a Qualified Bus Driver your rate will be GBP11.88 per hour plus premium rates for overtime. During your first few weeks with us at First Group you will embark on our training programme to ensure you are the best bus driver you can be, whilst in training your rate will be GBP10.05 per hour.

You will be based at our Bristol Hengrove depot on a minimum 37 hour week contract.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is a good communicator and gets on well with people. You must be patient, a safe driver, reliable and calm under pressure. Happy to work a variety of shifts including early mornings, evenings and weekends, you should also have a full UK driving license with no more than 3 points.

We at First Bus Bristol try to do everything we can to keep the air that we breathe as clean as possible. Hybrid technology helps, of course, but we've gone one better with two new 'virtual' electric buses that use GPS systems to make sure the buses run in completely electric mode once they're within Bristol's designated Air Quality Management Area.
