Duties and responsibilities
Investment expertise:
- maintain up-to-date knowledge of the current investment market and economic issues
- maintain knowledge of LGIM's core views on markets, current fund positions and key performance drivers for communication to client directors/clients
- maintain and carry out internal staff training
Product marketing:
- be involved with the on-going education needs of client directors, trustees, consultants and others
- work with the wider LGIM team to develop relevant thought leadership
Relationship management:
- liaise between fund management and distribution activities, including playing a leading role in translating fund management themes into client presentations
- work with clients to understand their requirements and with the relevant investment teams to deliver innovative solutions
- foster strong internal relationships to achieve better product knowledge and pull together the ‘best of LGIM’ for clients
Product Strategy and Development:
- monitor regulatory and market developments
- develop insights from internal and external data about consumer needs
- liaise with the product development team to implement product strategy for LGIM, including new product launches as well as changes to existing products
Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) accountabilities (where applicable)
Adhere to LGIM’s TCF policy, including (without limitation):
- advice Controls: define, develop and deliver a strategy to ensure advice given to customers is appropriate and is in line with Legal & General’s policy on Customer Experience and TCF policy
- service: define, develop and deliver systems to ensure a good level of service aligned to Legal & General’s Customer Experience and TCF policy
- marketing Communication: define, develop and deliver a strategy to ensure communications are clear, expectations are targeted and adhere to Legal & General’s Customer Experience and TCF policy
Required skills, qualifications and experience
- mathematical or financial degree or equivalent
- good proven knowledge of relevant financial markets
- good proven knowledge of new and future developments in relevant products and services
- good proven understanding of the UK DC regulatory landscape
- proven relevant experience analysing complex investment problems and translating them into straight forward solutions
- excellent proven communication skills (interpersonal, written, presentation)
- excellent proven numeracy skills
- advanced proven IT skills, in particular PowerPoint and Excel
- a strong intellect and experience with sufficient technical knowledge and experience to be able to win the confidence of both the client relationship managers and investment teams
- highly organised and strong proven prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under time pressure and with accuracy
- great proven team player, good ability to work independently and proactively to take ownership of tasks, as well as part of a team
- proven logical and creative thinker
- excellent proven attention to detail
- proven “can do/makes things happen” attitude and commercial focus
Desirable skills, qualifications and experience
- CFA / IMC or other similar investment management qualification desirable
