Job Purpose
Ensuring that the business is legally compliant in all its Employment activities.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide confidential ad-hoc advice and assistance to all employees in line with HATS procedures.
2. Assist with conducting investigations for grievance and disciplinary & appeal hearings, in line with HATS Grievance & Disciplinary Procedures and assisting with preparations for disciplinary and grievance hearings as necessary. Preparation of outcome letters.
3. Ability and confidence to handle the management of sickness absenteeism in line with the Sickness Absence section of the Employee Handbook. Complex issues to be escalated to the Directors.
4. Assist Line Managers with the mid-year and year end performance appraisals.
5. Preparing and updating of various job descriptions for all sections of the HATS Group
6. Has the ability and passion to deal with non-complex employment related matters.
7. Continue to review HR policies and procedures in line with changes in Employment Law.
8. Excellent Knowledge and experience in regard to redundancies and TUPE transfers.
9. Support the Senior Managers & Directors on any other HR tasks as and when required; and ensuring that HR activities are carried out of the highest standard.
Person Specification and Skills
1. At least 3 years experience of working in a generalist HR environment.
2. Understanding and practical knowledge of employment law and employer best practice.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be liaising with managers across the business.
4. Self-motivated and people orientated, confident and capable of working individually and as part of a team.
5. Organised and methodical approach to HR with excellent attention to detail.
6. Proficiency with MS Office tools: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook. Knowledge of SharePoint would be advantageous. Minimum - CIPD Level 5.
