Come and join the team at RACE, (Remote Applications in Challenging Environments). We design Remote Handling equipment for fusion and non-fusion applications in challenging environments according to established project methodology
RACE is part of UK Atomic Energy Authority, and together they are working help shape the future of the worlds energy playing a part in our carbon-free energy future.
Your role is key to the success of RACE projects. you'll be responsible for documenting software functionality and creating concise and detailed manuals and training materials for complex software.

In your role you will be accountable for:
* Edits, proofreads, and produces end user and technical documentation, statistical reports, procedures and presentations.
* Preparing training materials implementation guides, and technical specifications.
* Producing and presenting product demonstrations for end user training.
* Performing graphic design and animation (e.g. presentation and publicity materials).
* Writing detailed universally understood procedures and user guides.
* Contribute to the team by participating in shared planning and problem solving.
* Provide technical support for relevant systems and software development help and advice to other group members.

You'll need:
* Degree in a scientific, engineering or technical subject or equivalent knowledge and experience
* Good interpersonal and communication skills,
* Excellent level of written English.
* Familiarity with good development practices throughout the software development lifecycle such as version control and testing.
* Ability to apply design principles such as Object-Oriented Design.

It would be helpful if you have:
* Experience of developing software used by others in a professional environment.
* Familiarity with some relevant technologies: Git, Gitlab/Github, automated testing & CI, build systems, packaging, containerisation.
