Test Manager (Quality Manager)

As a result of a recent investment decision, the Solution COE is actively seeking candidates, to ramp up its ability to deliver ATM-as-a-Service (ATMaaS). The Payment Processing Services element within ATMaaS uses cloud based infrastructure and is a key growth area for our business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To lead the definition of individual test strategies, processes and procedures. To liaise closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, Test Analysts and project management personnel to ensure testing is robust and comprehensive
  • To manage end-to-end testing activities, including estimating, definition of detailed delivery schedules, testing milestones and dependencies, acceptance criteria, quality criteria, management of sub-contractors / partners. Oversee and coordinate scheme certifications.
  • To ensure sufficient resource and skill levels are forecast and in place. To ensure staff are equipped and fully briefed about testing requirements (will include infrastructural personnel for UAT)
  • To manage testing delivery against the agreed plan and initiate 'remedial' action (or escalation), when required. To ensure the smooth transition from testing into ongoing support and delivery
  • To ensure the testing methodology is robustly followed, particularly with regard to planning, control, reporting, documentation, quality, risk analysis and management and change control
  • To ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction throughout the testing activities acting as a primary contact point for customers (particularly where testing is taking place on customer sites).
  • To ensure all testing 'stakeholders' are identified and sufficiently informed and involved during all stages of the testing activity. To ensure each individual 'stakeholder' provides high levels of personal and public support to the testing activity. This also include stakeholder management with 3rd party suppliers (e.g. Test tools).
  • To lead, manage, coach and mentor all personnel in the team to ensure high levels of performance and to develop 'new talent' within the Company for the future
  • To set and agree objectives for personnel in the team to ensure achievement of results and focus and motivation of staff. To monitor performance against targets on a regular basis; taking remedial action as necessary
  • To provide cover for the overall QA / Release Manager.
  • To provide input to the definition and update of the Company's overall testing methodology and standards
  • To define testing tools and automation required. To create the business case for any investment in testing tools or automation
  • Promote a continuous improvement ethic to processes, procedures, quality and methods across the team

Skills and Experience required:

  • Demonstrable experience of testing/QA background, testing methodologies, test automation
  • ISO8385 and NDC message protocols is essential
  • Payments domain knowledge from a payment services background desirable
  • Experience of using Version control and release management toolsets like Jenkins, GIT, Experience in using agile, waterfall methodologies or ITIL framework desirable
  • An appreciation and exposure to Development/programming is desirable
  • Use of tool sets such as JIRA, Atlassian is desirable
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in change and release management within the software development lifecycle.
  • Well developed analytical troubleshooting and decision making skills
  • Accreditation of ISTQB desirable
