City Services is responsible for the Council's front line services including, customer service channels (digital, contact centre and face to face) and environmental operations such as highways, drainage, transportation, waste, street cleansing, parks and cemeteries.

About the job

The post holder will report directly to the Assets and Infrastructure Team Manager and have extensive experience in a municipal engineering environment, in particular in the Streetworks administration and management and highways maintenance areas. The post holder must be competent in the New Roads and Streetworks management and coordination functions, dealing directly with all utilities and stakeholders on highway related service delivery noticing, enforcement and coordination.

About the person

The post holder will hold a minimum of HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or other related discipline and have extensive background and experience in working in a municipal highways or utility environment. You will be conversant and accredited in Streetworks management and construction. This post requires you to demonstrate the ability to work well as both an individual and team member with management experience to lead a small team. The post holder will also be required to possess an ability to organise and prioritise tasks and deliver complex outcomes to tight deadlines.

You will be skilled at analysing multiple sources of information, making excellent decisions, and driving difficult situations towards a positive resolution.
