Consultant Ecologist - Woking
My client is an independent, Environmental, Consultancy, that work in both the public and private sectors, providing advice on all ecosystems. They have been established since the early 2000s and currently operate from 5 offices that work throughout the UK. They are currently looking to open a new office in the UK and are looking for a Consultant Ecologist around the London area to become part of their new team.
To achieve this role, it is required that you have:
At least 2 years' relevant consultancy experience;
Project management experience;
Good Extended Phase 1 habitat and protected species survey skills;
One or more protected species survey licenses (desirable);
Strong report writing skills;
Competency in common software packages such as MS Office, QGIS or similar;
Membership of CIEEM or be eligible to apply.
A current UK driving license and access to own vehicle.
During your time at this role you will be:
Supporting liaison with project managers and clients on the delivery of ecological requirements within multi-disciplinary tenders and projects;
Organising and carrying out desk studies and field-based habitat, botanical, protected and non-native invasive species surveys.
Safe delivery of protected species and habitat surveys; analysis and evaluation of results, impact assessments, and the design and implementation of successful mitigation strategies;
Performing the role of an Ecological Clerk of Works on construction projects;
Adaptable and flexible approach to work to meet peaks in demands (as all roles are likely to involve occasional longer/and or unsociable hours and a degree of working away from home for days/ weeks at a time)
