Here at Johnnie Johnson Housing Trust, we are looking for a Trainee / Graduate Development Project Manager to work as part of the team supporting the delivery of the JJH Development Growth Strategy 2018-23.

Working with the Head of Development and Land Executive, you will ensure schemes are developed/re-developed on time, on budget and to a high standard, in accordance with departmental and strategic objectives. Providing support in identifying sites and buildings for development opportunity, you will assist in the preparation of appraisals and cash flow forecasts, progressing projects through all stages of the development process. Working alongside a mentor and with designers, cost consultants and others industry specialists, you will produce cost estimates, schedules of work, tender and contract documentation whilst observing and eventually assisting with negotiations to purchase sites, liaising with solicitors, local authorities and other agencies as appropriate.

About You

We’re looking for an individual who has effective decision making and problem solving skills and who can prioritise work load effectively, always putting the best interests of the business and the customer at heart. You’ll need excellent communication and interpersonal skills to allow you to liaise with customers, the design team, contractors and colleagues, along with the ability to write effective, accurate and persuasive reports and presentations for a range of audiences. We also ask that you can sustain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, be a flexible team member and can contribute to a wide range of corporate challenges.

Whilst a qualification in property, development, construction or a related field would only be an advantage, we would like you to have some knowledge of the property development process, the built environment and principles of good design, including homes for rent and sale.
