Opportunity is around the corner as Pertemps are working in partnership with a well-established food manufacturing company based in the outskirts of Lincoln, recruiting for a Quality Assured / QA to join an enthusiastic team on a short term contract.

Working Hours: Friday and Saturday, 7PM to 7AM
Salary: GBP11.44 per hour
Position: 3 Month Contract

With the growing emphasis on product safety and quality, we are looking for a QA Technician to support the site in operating at the highest possible standards in Food Safety and producing excellent Quality products at all times. The role will be reporting to the Technical & Quality Assurance Manager.

Day to day tasks including but not limited to:

Assist with the implementation and monitoring of all Food Safety, Quality and Hygiene Procedures
Assisting with preparing the site for audits and accreditation.
Micro sampling of products and analysis/investigation, carrying out environmental swabbing
Complaints - logging onto system and issuing / investigating complaints.
Maintain computer analysis, trending, and paper record systems
Product & Process audits including forward and backward traceability
Product quality assessment and Quality Improvement, check that product is being made to the specified process standards
Raw material quality assessment
HACCP - checking HACCP related paperwork, training staff on CCP's e.g. metal detection checks
Audit Production Departments & QMS paperwork (hygiene audits, traceability, process control, etc).
Report any non-conforming products/processes to relevant Department Manager and ensure appropriate action is taken.
Assist with training of operatives in the completion of records to the required standard.
Administration, printing & checking of product labelling.
Escalate reporting where appropriate in accordance with site Food Safety and Quality procedures.
Supervision and monitoring of Hygiene staff, cleaning tasks, and related paperwork.

Skills and experience:

Food manufacturing experience in a similar role is preferred
Experience of Sites with accreditation such as BRC, Retailer Audits, Internal Auditing Experience / Training
Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification (desirable)
HACCP knowledge and experience
Experience of specifications, Labelling & software would be advantageous
Ability to complete/conduct audits, checks and quality analysis
Data collection and report writing
IT literate - use of Word, Excel, Database systems
Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must
High levels of accuracy in work and a methodical approach
