Mango Solutions are looking for a general catering assistant for a school based in Potters Bar to provide assistance in the kitchen in order to produce 450 meals by the designated lunch times.
The position is for term time only plus 2 days at the end and beginning of each new term to do necessary maintenance cleaning in the kitchen.
All Catering Assistants are issued a uniform which must be worn at all times together with safety shoes. Additional protective clothing such as gloves and goggles need to be worn as necessary.
* The Catering Manager will designate daily chores to the General Catering Assistants such as:
* Washing vegetables
* Cleaning rotas
* Checking deliveries
* Dishwashing in either the sink or machine
* Serving food at lunch times
* Clearing away after lunch
* Cleaning of the Kitchen
* Liaising directly with the boys of the School
* Undertaking any associated duties as required by the Catering Manager
Experience, skills and knowledge:
* Must be physically fit
* Pleasant, patient and helpful personality
* An ability to communicate with all people
* Ability to work on own initiative as well as in a small team
* Reliable, trustworthy and a happy, even temperament
* Flexible approach to working arrangements
* Willing to undertake relevant training, such as Basic Hygiene Certificates.
* Applications must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure & Barring Service.
