Junior Software Engineer required for a leading electrical and electronic solutions manufacturer supplying global industrial and oil & gas industries. The successful junior software engineer will receive full training and work with experienced engineers to gain further skills and experience to reach full competency in software engineering.
The successful Junior / Graduate Software Engineer will be degree qualified in a software engineering / development, computer science or electronic engineering field of study and be able to carry out computer software programming duties. It is not essential but in-industry experience would be an advantage.
Junior Software Engineer Position Overview
The key responsibility of this position will be to design and develop software on electrical power supply systems. Other duties will include:
Programming with embedded C and C based languages and OO Programming.
Attending and contributing to engineering meetings.
Participate in internal design reviews on existing or potential projects.
Actively working alongside and communicating with other departments and clients, to ensure projects match their specifications, are completed on time and within budget.
Conduct Research & Development duties where necessary, we provide after-market repairs and updates for our clients.
Junior Software Engineer Position Requirements
Must have Degree qualification (or equivalent) in software engineering or development, electrical or robotic engineering.
Working experience in a relevant field would be advantageous but is not essential
Ability to program using C#, C++, embedded C or other languages. OO Programming would be an advantage.
Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Understanding of motion control and multiple axis robotics.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Able to use Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel etc.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Junior Software Engineer Position Remuneration
GBP22,000-GBP28,000 Dependent on existing skillset and relevant experience.
28 Days Inc. Bank Holidays
4 day week every 2 weeks. Early finishes on Fridays
