It isn't just our talented, experienced Social Workers who have a key role to play in supporting some of the most vulnerable children in our society. Behind them are highly organised and effective Business Services teams, of which a Business Services Officer is an integral component.
In the last year Cafcass worked to safeguard and promote the welfare of over 125,000 children at a time of upheaval and uncertainty in their lives. Our Social Workers - which we call Family Court Advisers - couldn't have achieved this without high quality, conscientious support.
As a Business Services Officer is based in our Birmingham - Citadel office you will contribute to the effective and efficient management and progression of cases, providing administrative support to the local Family Court Advisers and Service Managers. Should you join us your tasks will include:
- monitoring case progression
- receiving referrals from the Court or Cafcass Intake Team
- create / update / close cases within our case management system
- sending letters and information packs to service users
- identify any missing information and follow-up as required
- receive and deal with telephone enquiries
- meet and greet visitors, including service users
- general admin support
A key role in helping to ensure the smooth running of our services, here are some things we look for in suitable candidates:
- A relevant qualification in business administration (e.g. NVQ2), a willingness to work towards to a qualification and/or significant experience in a similar role
- Confident and capable of using MS Office applications to a basic / intermediate level
- Clear, confident communicator via email, phone and in person
- Someone who thrives working in a team
- Able to prioritise work in a fast-moving environment with strict deadlines
