An exciting opportunity not to be missed! City of Wolverhampton College is looking for a Pastoral Support Worker to join our team based across our College Campus. You will join us on a full time, permanent basis working 37 hours per week. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of GBP17,394 - GBP18,395 per annum.

The Pastoral Support Worker role:
You will work with tutors and support staff to ensure appropriate action is taken to provide effective support for students ensuring such interventions are accurately recorded and monitored. Working closely with the safeguarding officer in meeting the welfare and pastoral needs of students and partnership links with support agencies.
Key responsibilities of the Pastoral Support Worker:
- To maintain up-to-date accurate and confidential records of students being supported.
- To assist in planning, organisation and implementation of staying safe promotion, events, campaigns & dissemination of information throughout the college.
- To work collaboratively with curriculum areas and personal tutors to support students.
- To track and monitor support to vulnerable students by maintaining up-to-date information systems and bring any concerns to the attention of the safeguarding manager.
- To liaise with internal and external agencies to support students with Mental Health needs.
- To produce regular tracking and monitoring reports on activities to support identified students at risk e.g. Young People in Care, Care leavers and Youth Offending Team referrals.
- Under the direction of the Safeguarding & Equality Manager, to assist in carrying out safeguarding risk assessments with those who have declared criminal convictions.
- To maintain up-to-date accurate and confidential records of students being supported via the Safeguarding Team.
- Help students gain access to resources and external agencies for support.
- To participate and contribute to safeguarding and team meetings.
- Undertake other duties and responsibilities commensurate with the post as determined by your line manager.
Experience and skills required of our Pastoral Support Worker:
- GCSE Maths and English
- Level 2 equivalent in use of IT
- Experience of working in an education environment
- Understanding of the factors that influence risky behaviour in young people
- Highly organized and able to work effectively to time constrained tasks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Youth work qualification
- Mentoring Qualification
- Experience of inter-agency work
