Our client is an established consultancy who deal with a wide range of projects such as environmental impact, environmental management and monitoring, mitigation and a variety of other ecological issues. They also deal with protected species surveys and assessments and are currently looking for a Bat Ecologist to join their team.

The successful Bat Ecologist will assist in co-ordinating baseline and further studies for a range of sites and species across the country. The role will involve survey work, compiling mitigation proposals and DEFRA licence applications. Other tasks will involve liaising with clients and associated organisiations and assisting with other species and habitat surveys when required.

The Bat Ecologist must hold an Ecology related first degree and have at least two years relevant professional experience. This experience ideally will have involved field surveys of a range of habitats and species including baseline, Phase 1 and 2. Familiarity with guidelines on bat survey techniques and sound analysis is essential.

The successful Ecologist will also be capable of collating historic, field and present data to produce impact assessments and make recommendations for further studies/actions.
