Overview

Scientist / Senior Scientist - Lentiviral Design and Production - Competitive Salary - Innovative cell therapy company based in Glasgow.

The main function of the role will be to develop lentivirus vector design and production capabilities to drive and implement new cell therapies. The role would be suited to someone with a strong background in vector development and production or in viral or protein purification and production.

The Role

In this Scientist / Senior Scientist role you will have the opportunity to:

• Design and optimise lentiviral plasmids.
• Establish robust in house production process at research scale with view to upscaling.
• Assist in development of scalable GMP compliant process for transduction of T cells.
• Develop SOPs for new processes in production and transduction
• Devise QC assays for the lentiviral vectors including assay transfer.
• Work independently and with the team to analyse data, draw appropriate conclusions and decide upon next steps.
• Carrying out literature reviews/collating information for the development of novel assays or the improvement of current processes.

Your Skills

As a Scientist / Senior Scientist you must bring the following skills and experience:

• A degree level qualification in a life science related discipline with experience working in research or commercial laboratories.
• Experience in molecular biology techniques as well as virus production and/or mammalian cell culture.
• Extensive knowledge of gene therapy vector design and production, particularly lentiviral vectors, with experience gained ideally in an industrial setting and an understanding of the regulatory requirements in this area.
• Experience working in a GxP environment is desirable.
• Excellent attention to detail, communication skills and organisational skills.
